Meeting Place: 2022-12-10 at 09:30 am - 11:30 am Location: Woods walk at the Jack Pine Trail How to find us: Meet at the information boards located just at the start of the trail.
The Jack Pine trail is a great trail for hiking, enjoying nature and feeding the birds.
You may have noticed that we are in the middle of winter, and therefore snow, ice, and cold will likely need to be considered. The best way to approach this is to wear layers, adding and subtracting them as you warm up or cool down. If you wish to feed the birds, I suggest you wear thinner gloves inside your mitts so your hands don't freeze.
The trail is well looked after by the NCC, and so far we have been okay with just our boots and maybe some grip-ons or crampons if there are icy spots. Snowshoes are welcome if you have a pair.
This outing will be a go unless there are dangerous driving conditions to get to and from the trail, or the temperatures are too cold.
Note: Members enjoy taking pictures of our adventures and sharing them on this site. If you do not wish to have photos taken of you please let everyone know at the beginning of the walk.
