No pets are allowed on this walk.
You are invited to a walk at the east end of the city. This trail is very beginner friendly (in fact many of you will think it's too easy), and a good part of this trail is broadwalk.
As mask wearing has become optional even at indoors, I will not enforce the policy of having to bring a mask and social distancing. I will also not require vaccination to be a pre-requisite. Having said that, I will ask the group to honor each individual's choice to wear a mask and/or maintain social distancing during this walk.
Please note that 4:30 PM is the START time and not the ARRIVAL time. Please arrive a few minutes early. If you are a few minutes late please leave a comment early. The cell phone reception is well at the site so I will be checking my phone.
We will begin with an introduction and welcome exercise, and then we will relax and enjoy our time in nature.
Note:
1. Time is confirmed unless for inclement weather.
2. No pets are allowed on this walk.
3. Facility is available at the trail head.
4. I will ask members not wish to be included in photos to identify themselves at the beginning of the hike. Please be mindful of their wish as pictures are taken.

11. Description
The Mer Bleue trail (Trail 53) is a 1.5 km loop trail that can be extended to 8.5 km walk. If you haven’t been, trust me – go! The whole trail can be done in under an hour (1.5 km) or two (8.5 km) – if you don’t stop to take photos along the way, which you probably will. The place is beautiful. The trail is mostly one large boardwalk through a bog, which is a mix of cattail marshes and what closely resembles a bog typical of the Northern Boreal region. At the end of the boardwalk is a section of forest, followed by an even smaller section of field. A recommendation: plan your visit to align with the sunset. I assure you, there is nothing more beautiful.
