Meeting Place: 2024-07-27 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: Mill of Kintail Conservation Area - 2854 Ramsay Concession 8 · Almonte, ON
How to find us: Meet at the parking lot
Distance & Terrain: ~4 km on flat trail
(!) New rule in effect. I will be checking registrants name and profile photo to ensure they can be traced. A proper profile includes a recognizable first name and a clearly identifiable photo (without the need of magnification).
As mask wearing has become optional even at indoors, I will not enforce the policy of having to bring a mask and social distancing. I will also not require vaccination to be a pre-requisite. Having said that, I will ask the group to honor each individual's choice to wear a mask and/or maintain social distancing during this walk.
This is a cute trail at the small town of Almonte, and in my opinion, lots to see in the summer months. Selected as one of the seven wonders of the Lanark County, this trail offers a river view, wide and flat land and surely, wild flowers and bird songs.
We will leave right at 10 AM. Please arrive a few minutes early. I will send a comment as we leave the parking lot. If you arrive a couple of minutes late follow the purple trail behind the parking spots on the side of the main road. You will have a good chance catching up with us.
The walk includes an introduction and welcome exercise, and then we will relax and enjoy our time in nature.
Notes:
1. Pay parking lot. The site fee is $6/vehicle.
2. No pets for this walk.
3. Facility is not available at the trail head.
4. If photos of others are taken make sure that you acquired their permissions before posting them on this page.

The Mill of Kintail boasts a large number of picnicking areas and a large covered shelter adjacent to a playground and half basketball court. Visit the R. Tait McKenzie and Dr. James Naismith Museum in the summer months to learn about the area’s two national historic figures.
