Meeting Place: 2024-07-07 at 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Location: Parc du Lac-Beauchamp - 741 Boulevard Maloney E · Gatineau, QC
How to find us: Meet in front of the building at the end of the parkway
(!) New rule in effect. I will be checking registrants name and profile photo to ensure they can be traced. A proper profile includes a recognizable first name and a clearly identifiable photo (without the need of magnification).
Free parking lot. The total distance depends. We will begin by hiking at the West loop (~3 km), with the possibility to explore the East loop (~4 km).
Home of the "Wonders of Sand" festival, this trail is located in the heart of Gatineau. Surrounded by Lake Beauchamp, a beach is nearby along with two loop trails, aptly named the East and West loop. The West loop is woodland whereas the East loop reaches plateau and escarpments.
We will begin with an introduction and welcome exercise, and then we will relax and enjoy our time in nature.
Notes:
1. No pets for this walk.
2. Facility is available at the trail head
3. If photos of others are taken make sure that you acquired their permissions before posting them on this page.
4. Pictures/ Video Tour

7. Description
Lac Beauchamp Park is a large wooded park of 172 hectares built around a small lake in the middle of the suburban sprawl of the eastern part of the city. In the winter it has 15 km of ski and snowshoe trails. In the summer, the lake has a supervised swimming beach and canoe rentals. The ski trails are then used by amateur naturalists, hikers and bikers.
The city offers several recreational activities in and around the park chalet. Several groups, such as ornithologists, entomologists, and garden lovers use the building and the nature preserve around it for their activities.
